The real-life son of the main character in “Song Sung Blue” is furious over Kate Hudson’s 2026 Oscar nomination for her role in the film.
Hudson, 46, and Hugh Jackman play Neil Diamond tribute band performers Claire and Mike Sardina in the movie — but their performances have been slammed by Mike’s real-life son, Mike Sardina Jr., who went after Hudson again after her surprise Best Actress nomination.
“I thought her performance was weak. I have no idea why everyone is kissing her rear over it,” Mike Jr. told the Daily Mail in an interview published Monday. “The story was weak and the acting was not pleasant on the eyes or ears.”
Mike Jr. called the praise for Hudson’s performance as his stepmom “disgusting,” claiming that she had “no depth at all” in the film, and said that her Oscar nomination is an “abomination.”
Jackman’s performance as Mike Sr., who died of a head injury at age 55 in 2006, didn’t impress Mike Jr. either.
“Kate and Hugh’s performances are so off base and it was like watching people who didn’t care trying to play a man who cared for God and others more than anything,” he explained.
“Kate’s performance was so lax, so uncaring, it’s hard to believe she was trying at all,” Mike Jr. continued, calling the “Almost Famous” star a ‘terrible actress.”
Mike Jr. also called “Song Sung Blue” a “travesty” and a “disgrace,” condemning “anyone who is a part of this film and continues to deny my sister and I my father’s legacy which he worked his whole life to achieve and pass on to his son.”
But Mike Jr.’s sister, Angelina, had kinder things to say about Hudson’s performance.
“I think Kate did a great job,” Angelina told the Daily Mail, calling Hudson’s nomination “well-deserved” and her performance “outstanding.”
Angelina also said that Hudson did better work that Jackman, 57, who “did okay, but it didn’t feel like my dad. I felt like he was someone playing my dad, but he fell short of the character.”
The Post has reached out to Hudson and Jackman’s reps for comment.
Mike Jr. has gone on the warpath against the “Song Sung Blue” stars since the film came out on Christmas Day.
He previously called Hudson and Jackman “monsters” and claimed that he was “purposely cut out” of the Craig Brewer-directed movie and was paid “a pathetic $30,000” to serve as a consultant.
Mike Jr. is not portrayed in the movie, while Angelina is played by King Princess. Angelina previously told the Daily Mail that she “didn’t have any contact” with King Princess, 27, and was paid the same consultant figure as her brother.
Hudson responded to Mike Jr.’s accusations in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter earlier this month.
“Honestly, I don’t even know,” Hudson said. “Out of respect for our filmmakers, I’m not the right person to speak to it.”
But Hudson noted that Claire, who was very involved in “Song Sung Blue” and appeared alongside Hudson and Jackman at several premieres ahead of its theatrical release, “was so happy with the movie.”
Hudson earned nominations for a Golden Globe Award, Actor Award and Academy Award for her role as Claire.
She celebrated her second career Oscar nom — her first being for “Almost Famous” in 2001 — by sharing a photo of her and her mom, Goldie Hawn, and a video of her FaceTiming with other family members.
“What a beautiful morning,” Hudson captioned her post.
