Oscar winner Halle Berry gave California Gov. Gavin Newsom some ice cold advice about women’s issues and how to treat voters ahead of an expected run for president.
The former Bond girl said she won’t be supporting the Democrat if he runs because he failed to “reconcile” with her for vetoing a bill that would have ensured insurance coverage for proven menopause treatments.
Berry,60, said she confronted the well-coiffed governor for axing the Menopause Care Act last year and he promised to follow up with her but never did.
“It’s disturbing when people say they’re going to do things and then don’t,” Berry told The Cut.
“But he heard what I said. If he is going to run to be our next president, he can’t sleep on women,” she warned. “Wake up, Gavin.”
In December 2025, the Hollywood star-turned-advocate for menopause care went off on Newsom, blasting him for killing the bill.
Speaking at the New York Times DealBook Summit, Berry accused Newsom of undervaluing women and suggested that, given his record, he shouldn’t be considered for the presidency.
“He’s not going to be governor forever, and the way he has overlooked women, half the population, by devaluing us, he probably should not be our next president either. Just saying,” Berry said.
This latest spat came after she called out Newsom, who responded by saying he appreciated Berry’s advocacy and suggested the two were on the path to reconciliation.
But more than a month later, he has yet to follow through or reach out as promised.
