Bill Belichick wasn’t the only one.
New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft also was not voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in his first year on the ballot, according to ESPN.
Kraft, who was one of five finalists in a category of contributors, coaches and senior players, needed at least 40 votes, or 80%, from the 50 members of the Hall’s Selection Committee.
Belichick and Kraft, the Patriots principal owner since 1994, won six Super Bowls together.
“Bill Belichick’s record goes without saying, same with the Patriots and Robert Kraft, who is also a candidate,” NFL Commissioner Goodell said Monday night. “They are spectacular. They have contributed so much to this game, and I believe they will be Hall of Famers.”
