If you missed crossing “see Paul Simon live” off your bucket last year, you’re in luck.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer — who surprised the world and paused his retirement from live music in 2025 to tour at intimate concert halls that took his hearing loss into account — just announced he’s hitting the road at larger venues than last year this summer.
That includes two New York stops.
First, Simon will hit Bethel’s Bethel Woods Center for the Arts on Friday, July 3.
Then, a little less than a week later, the New York City native drops into Queens’ Forest Hills Stadium on Wednesday, July 8.
While out and about in ’25, the 84-year-old singer-songwriter typically performed two “sets” per show, according to Set List FM. The first half was comprised of tracks from his 2023 album “Seven Psalms” and featured his wife and collaborator Edie Brickell.
After a short intermission, the folk legend would take the stage again and dust off the hits like “Graceland,” “Homeward Bound” and “Me and Julio Down By The Schoolyard” (complete with a whistling interlude!) before finishing with a pair of encores made up of “Father and Daughter,” “50 Ways To Leave Your Lover,” “The Boxer” and “The Sound of Silence.”
“Living up to the name of the tour, Simon and his ten-piece band were subdued, but they were also never lacking in emotional power and technical prowess,” The Arts STL reported in a review of a May 2025 concert.
“…though Simon lacks the range and control he had as a younger man, that limitation only served to support the themes of loneliness, joy, and sorrow that have been hallmarks of his sublime work as a songwriter for decades.”

Paul Simon on “SNL”
Simon and Sabrina Carpenter opened “Saturday Night Live’s” 50th anniversary show with a nearly five-minute rendition of his seminal “Homeward Bound” in February 2025.
Accompanied just by an acoustic guitar and a pair of microphones, you can hear their poignant, triumphant duet here:
Paul Simon new music
On May 19, 2023, Simon released his 15th solo studio album “Seven Psalms.”
The unconventional record — which came to him in a dream — is a single 33-minute track made up seven parts.
“I envisioned ‘Seven Psalms’ as one long thought, combined with sounds powerful enough to make the thought come alive,” he said.
For our money, the record is a soft, spiritual departure for the sensitive hitmaker. His unmistakable voice is as powerful as ever but there’s a real deep feeling here, one of an artist trying to make a final thesis statement. “Seven Psalms” is simple, lo-fi and a worthy listen for even the most fair weather of fans.
And, while, yes, the album is quite heavy, “My Professional Opinion” is a jaunty, tongue-in-cheek tune that has traces of Simon’s playful classics “Me and Julio Down By The Schoolyard” and “Cecilia” in its DNA if you squint hard enough while tuning in.
If you’d like to hear the stirring, acoustic offering, you can find “Seven Psalms” here.
Paul Simon band
According to Consequence, here are the artists that took the stage with Simon last spring and summer:
Caleb Burhans (viola), Jamey Haddad (percussion), Gyan Riley (guitar), Mick Rossi (piano, keys), Andy Snitzer (saxophone), Nancy Stagnita (flute), Mark Stewart (guitar), and Eugene Friesen (Cello). They added that “Steve Gadd and Matt Chamberlin will alternate on drums.”
As noted above, Simon’s wife Edie Brickell will join him on vocals.
