Jennifer Garner bit chunk of actor’s ear during fight scene

Jennifer Garner is a savage.

The actress, 53, shared a wild story about the time she bit a chunk of another actor’s ear off during an Apple TV press event for her thriller series “The Last Thing He Told Me” in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

During the panel, a clip from the show played that featured an uniformed man, portrayed by actor and stunt performer Sala Baker, showing up at Garner’s character Hannah Hall’s home and attacking her in an epic fight scene, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“Can I just say that the performer, Sal, the last time I fought him was in ‘The Kingdom,’” Garner told the audience, referring to the 2007 action film that Garner starred in and Baker, 49, played a kidnapper.

“Pete Berg, who was the director, told him to try to kill me,” the “Alias” actress continued. “We did not have a lot of choreography, and he told me to do anything I could to survive. He did, and I did, and I ended up scrambling onto his back. I bit his ear, and we have a picture of him missing a chunk of ear, because we were not kidding.”

Nearly 20 years after the incident, Garner and Baker reunited for another fight scene, this time in “The Last Thing He Told Me.”

“We went for it in a way that the crew — this was maybe our first or second day of shooting — were like, ‘Can you be careful with her?’ I was like, ‘No, no, no, no, he’s not going to be careful. I’m not going to be careful. Just back out of the way. I have a score to settle here,’” Garner explained.

“And Sal was with us the entire season,” she added. “So prepare yourselves.”

Garner’s story at the panel shocked her co-star Nicolaj Coster-Waldau, who responded, “Can we just go over that again? You bit a piece of his ear off?”

“Like Mike Tyson,” Garner quipped.

“Why are you all looking as if this is a great thing? What is wrong with you people?” the “Game of Thrones” actor, 55, jokingly told the audience, as Garner replied, “Don’t make me mad. I seem nice. I’ve warned you before.”

“Oh my god, no, I love you,” Coster-Waldau sweetly told Garner.

“The Last Thing He Told Me” is based on a novel by Laura Dave, who executive produces the series and moderated Tuesday’s panel.

In the show, which returns for Season 2 later this month, Garner plays Hannah, an artist and a newlywed who forms an unexpected relationship with her stepdaughter Bailey (Angourie Rice) after her husband Owen (Coster-Waldau) goes missing.

Garner previously revealed that she pitched herself to get the lead role in the show after she read the book.

“I was such a huge fan of it, but someone else was attached and [starring in it] was really not a possibility, so I was just excited to see it,” she told The Hollywood Reporter in 2023. “Then I heard early on that the role became available again and thought, ‘There’s no way the women in town will just let me waltz in and have this role. And nor should they!’”

“The only shot I had was to go right at it right away,” Garner added. “So I put my kids to bed, brewed a pot of coffee, and stayed up all night to make my case.”

“The Last Thing He Told Me” Season 2 premieres Feb. 20 on Apple TV.
