An arrest warrant has been issued for champion boxer Gervonta “Tank” Davis in Maryland, shortly after he was released from jail in a different case in Florida.
A Baltimore judge issued the warrant after determining Davis, 31, had violated his probation in a Maryland hit-and-run crash, the Baltimore Sun reported Tuesday.
In 2023, Davis cut a plea deal in connection with the 2020 crash in Baltimore. According to police, Davis ran a red light, struck a car carrying four people and sped off from the scene. The plea deal called for 90 days of house arrest, 200 hours of community service and three years of probation.
Last week, Davis was arrested in South Florida and charged with attempted kidnapping, battery and false imprisonment. He posted $8,500 bail and was released on Jan. 29.
In that incident, an ex-girlfriend of Davis said she was working as a cocktail waitress at a strip club in Miami Gardens when Davis confronted her inside, forced her into a back room, assaulted her, restrained her and led her outside.
According to the police report, Davis grabbed the woman by her throat and hair, then threatened her before letting her go. Cops spent about two weeks looking for Davis before they located and arrested him.
Davis already violated his probation once in the hit-and-run case and was forced to serve 44 days in jail. The judge said he broke the rules of his house arrest.
