Bronx driver strikes 2 people, 2 buildings in booze-fueled crash

An accused drunk driver slammed into two people and two buildings during a wild crash in the Bronx, police said Saturday.

Suspect Abner Rosa Blanco was driving a white Ford van west on East Tremont Ave. near Lafontaine Ave. outside Walter Gladwin Park in Morris Heights just before 11 p.m. Friday when he lost control of the wheel and vaulted the curb.

He struck an 18-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man before crashing into two stores between Monterey and Third Aves., witnesses told police.

EMS rushed the two victims to St. Barnabas Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Rosa Blanco wasn’t injured.

Cops quickly determined the 42-year-old suspect was drunk behind the wheel and charged him with driving while intoxicated.

Rosa Blanco lives in Bridgeport, Conn., roughly 50 miles from where the crashed occurred, according to police.

His arraignment in Bronx Criminal Court was pending on Saturday.
