Timothée Chalamet’s uncle was a complete unknown to fans.
Now, a viral post on X has revealed that the actor, 30, is actually related to actor Rodman Flender.
The tweet read: “Hollywood is giving him special treatment. Chalamet is a nepo baby but a lot of people don’t know that. He has an uncle in the industry who opened a lot of doors for him.”
Flender, 63, has worked in the industry since 1991, and his acting credits include “Gilmore Girls,” “The Office,” “Ugly Betty” and “Party of Five.”
He also directed episodes of “Finding Carter” and “Scream: The TV Series.”
According to IMDb, Flender’s last credit was directing the 2019 show: “On Becoming a God in Central Florida” starring Kirsten Dunst.
The PBS alum is also a close friend of Conan O’Brien’s and directed his 2011 documentary “Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop.”
Chalamet’s mother, Nicole Flender is Rodman’s sister. She was previously an actress and dancer on Broadway.
According to Daily Mail, fans took to Reddit to share their opinions on the revelation.
One social media user penned, “My point is this dude came from money and is only here because of his family’s industry connections. He would never be able to achieve his status if he came up like most of us, working two jobs while chasing the dream.”
A second person chimed in: “His mom was a dancer on Broadway. You don’t get on Broadway without being a member of the Actor’s Equity Association.”
“He and his sister look so much alike wow (Timmy’s mom Nicole),” another said.
Nicole, meanwhile, is also mom to daughter Pauline, who starred in “Sex Lives of College Girls.”
Flender studied at New York’s High School of Performing Arts and London’s Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. He then earned a degree from Harvard University.
For his part, Chalamet attended the famed LaGuardia High School of Music & Art. He then went to Columbia University before transferring to New York University.
However, the “Call Me By Your Name” star dropped out to focus on acting.
These days, Chalamet is winning big during the 2026 award season for his role in “Marty Supreme.”
The film is inspired by real life professional ping-pong player Marty Reisman, who won several medals at the World Table Tennis Championships during the late 1940s through the 1960s.
Chalamet stars as the titular character Marty Mauser.
He took home both the Critics Choice Award and Golden Globe. Chalamet is also nominated for an Actor’s Award and Oscar.
“Marty Supreme” features a scene in which Mauser willingly gets spanked by Rockwell (Kevin O’Leary) with a real ping pong paddle.
The “Shark Tank” host gave insight into working with Chalamet while at the 2026 Golden Globes.
“With Timmy, I didn’t like his character. So it’s really easy to rip him to pieces no problem,” O’Leary, 71, told The Post. “That guy, his blind ambition, and [he] just runs over everybody. He just bulled everybody down.”
“So for me, it was easy to go after him,” he added. “And so I really enjoyed the moments we had together.”
