Seahawks star Jaxon-Smith Njigba leaves Super Bowl LX with injury

Jaxon Smith-Njigba left Super Bowl LX in the third quarter, disappearing into the locker room.

The NBC broadcast reported the star wide receiver was followed into the blue medical tent by an independent concussion specialist, and the Seahawks confirmed he was being evaluated for a concussion.

His Seattle Seahawks led the New England Patriots, 12-0, when Smith-Njigba jogged into the tunnel at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.

Largely matched up with star Pats cornerback Christian Gonzalez, Smith-Njigba had three receptions for 24 yards when he left the game.

The third-year wide receiver was the NFL’s Offensive Player of the Year after leading the NFL with 1,793 receiving yards this season. He finished the year with 119 catches and 10 touchdowns.
