Super Bowl wedding was real; boy with Grammy was not Liam Ramos

The little boy who accepted Bad Bunny’s Grammy during the Super Bowl LX halftime show was not the 5-year-old detained by ICE, as many social media onlookers thought — but the wedding Lady Gaga sang at was the real deal.

One of the numerous symbolism-laden vignettes that the Puerto Rican rapper danced through was that of a little boy watching his historic Grammy win on an old-fashioned television set with his parents in their living room. Then Bad Bunny swooped in, the award in his outstretched hands, and handed it to the child. The boy clutched it to his chest in overwhelmed delight.

Many viewers suspected the boy was  5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos, who spent more than 10 days in ICE detention with his father until being released on a judge’s orders earlier this month. Their similarity sparked a wave of social media speculation.

Though the boy was indeed age 5, he was not Liam, as it turned out. He was Lincoln Fox, a child model of Egyptian and Argentinian heritage who has appeared in numerous ad campaigns for the likes of Walmart, Target and other major brands.

“I’ll remember this day forever!” Lincoln’s Instagram account posted alongside a clip of the moment. “It was my truest honor.”

Speculation also ran rampant that the boy represented a young Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, Bad Bunny’s given name. He headlined the show, “Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio presenta.” The artist’s reps had not commented on Monday morning.

Another mini-skit involved a wedding, about five minutes into the show. A bride and groom appeared, surrounded by dancers and musicians, just as the officiant declared them married. They kissed and then parted along with the crowd, to reveal Lady Gaga and the Puerto Rican salsa band Los Sobrinos. She sang part of her hit “Die with a Smile” before joining Bad Bunny in a salsa dance.

The show was sprinkled with dance cameos including Pedro Pascal, Cardi B, Jessica Alba and Karol G.
