Vandal sought for defacing Harlem church with blasphemous message

This vandal isn’t going to heaven — or hell.

The front door of a Harlem church was defaced with the words “There is no afterlife” scrawled across it, and police are asking for the public’s help in tracking down the suspect.

The demoralizing graffiti marring the main entrance to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 360 Lenox Ave. near W. 128th St. was discovered shortly before 1 p.m. on Feb. 4, cops said.

The suspect, a man pictured wearing a yellow, high-visibility jacket, sunglasses and a black “New York” beanie, was last seen fleeing south on Lenox Ave.

The vandalism is being investigated by the NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
