Pool cleaners seen in Nancy Guthrie’s yard amid desperate search

Pool cleaners were reportedly accompanied by authorities on Friday as they worked in Nancy Guthrie’s backyard amid the desperate search for the 84-year-old, who was abducted from her Tucson home nearly two weeks ago.

Drone footage shared online by MS Now reporter Alex Tabet shows one man dragging a net through the shallow end of the pool, and another walking the perimeter before taking over with the net.

“In a strange development, pool cleaners are in Nancy Guthrie’s backyard, cleaning her pool,” Tabet captioned the 81-second clip.

At least one member of the sheriff’s department was also present, according to Fox News. It’s unclear why the pool cleaners were on the scene or what they may have been looking for.

Guthrie, the mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie, was last seen at her home on the evening of Jan. 31 and was reported missing the following day. Authorities have been treating her disappearance as a suspected abduction.

Earlier this week, the FBI released photos and video from Guthrie’s doorbell camera, which show an armed and masked man outside her home appearing to tamper with the camera.

On Friday, TMZ published footage from a Ring camera said to be recorded about 6.5 miles from Guthrie’s home in the early hours of Jan. 23. Both the man in that video and the suspect in the FBI’s images appears to have a goatee.

The man seen outside Guthrie’s home is believed to be between 5-foot-9 and 5-foot-10, according to the FBI’s Phoenix bureau. Authorities said he was carrying a 25-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Backpack.

The FBI is currently offering up to $100,000 for information leading to Guthrie’s recovery or the arrest and conviction of her abductor.
