They both went there.
Lefty Dem Rep. Ilhan Omar on Sunday bashed firebrand GOP Rep. Nancy Mace as a “drunk” for suggesting she and fellow “Squad” Rep. Rashida Tlaib were mourning Iranian Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s death.
Mace of South Carolina had sarcastically posted online Saturday — after Khamenei’s death was announced — “My heart goes out to Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib tonight.
“Sending them thoughts and prayers,” she wrote in a post accompanied by a picture of Khamenei.
Omar and Tlaib — both of Minnesota — were the first Muslim women elected to Congress and are part of a far-left contingency known as “The Squad.”
“I hope you aren’t drunk and took your staff’s advice, Rashida and I don’t know this man and feel confident he didn’t care about us,” Omar fired back on X.
“Please restrain [sic] from drinking too much as you have been warned from your staff and stay off social media when you are drunk. I pray in his holy month you find peace and respect for your self [sic].”
Omar was referencing the litany of complaints Mace has faced from former staffers about her creating a toxic work environment.
Last month, a stunning New York Magazine story accused Mace of drinking alcohol “excessively” and tasking staffers with late-night runs to liquor stores to buy her booze.
Mace has vehemently disputed the accusations, despite several ex-staffers publicly backing them up, claiming she suffers from hemochromatosis, which she described as a “lifelong genetic affliction that prevents me from consuming much alcohol.”
Hemochromatosis is a condition where excessive iron builds up in key organs such as the heart, pancreas, and liver.
“Honey, it’s ‘please refrain’ not ‘please restrain.’ This is what happens when your staff is from the Third World and can’t speak proper English,” Mace needled Omar in response.
Mace, who is vying to be governor of South Carolina, has applauded the killing of Khamenei and efforts to undermine the Iranian regime.
Omar and Mace have frequently traded barbs on social media over the years.
In January, Mace attempted to get the House Oversight Committee to subpoena records that might show whether Omar married her brother.
The Minnesota Democrat bashed President Trump on Saturday for authorizing the Operation Absolute Fury strikes on Iran. Khamenei was killed during the joint US-Israeli strikes.
“The American people are sick and tired of endless wars built on false promises and paid for with innocent lives. Congress must immediately pass [the] Khanna-Massie War Powers Resolution,” Omar wrote on X at the time.
Before the attacks, Omar grumbled that “The US apparently loves to strike Muslim countries during Ramadan and I am convinced it isn’t what these countries have done to violate international law but about who they worship.”
Ramadan is a month of fasting, prayer and reflection in Islam that spans Feb. 17 to March 19 this year.
Mace’s office did not respond to a Post request for comment.
