Lifestyle influencer Nancy Grewal was fatally stabbed Tuesday night in a home in Canada.
Police in the Ontario town of LaSalle sent their sympathies to the 45-year-old victim’s family in a statement calling her death “an isolated incident” that shouldn’t concern the general public. Following inquiries from media services asking for further information, the LaSalle Police Service issued a follow-up Thursday.
“Investigators are confident this was not a random act of violence,” according to law enforcement. “Ms. Grewal’s murder is being investigated as an intentional act against her.”
Canadian news outlet The Windsor Star said police secured the crime scene and marked off part of a wooded area roughly a half-mile away.
The Times of India said Grewal, whose social media videos were often not recorded in English, was vocal about Indian and Canadian politics.
Her last Instagram post was on Feb. 26, though a tribute from her sister was posted to Grewal’s account Friday.
“With a very heavy heart I share that my beloved sister Nancy Grewal has passed away on 3 March 2026,” her sibling wrote.”I lost my sister, my strength, my forever friend.Rest in peace, my sister. You will always live in our hearts.”
A farewell post presented as being from the victim herself was also added to that social media feed thanking her 13,000 followers for their support.
“Signing off from this world,” it said.
She also had more than 9,000 YouTube subscribers.
