Bronx couple shoveling snow threatened at gunpoint by driver over parking spot

A Bronx couple shoveling snow was threatened by a driver with a pistol in a spat over a parking spot, police said Thursday.

The harrowing encounter took place the day after a historic winter storm dumped nearly two feet of snow on the five boroughs.

The NYPD released images of the menacing motorist, as well as his truck, and asked the public’s help identifying him and tracking him down.

The couple, both 35, were digging out their car near Westchester Ave. and Willow Lane in Pelham Bay when the driver of a white Chevrolet pickup truck rolled up about 7 p.m. Jan. 27 and asked them to move their vehicle, cops said.

The victims assumed the driver wanted them to move their car forward so he could park behind them. But when they pulled out, the driver tried to take their entire spot, sparking an argument.

As the couple yelled at the driver, he pulled a pistol on them as he cursed them out, cops said. He ultimately sped off and was last seen heading south on Bruckner Blvd.

One of the victims managed to snap pictures of the suspect holding his gun at his side and of his truck before he sped off. Police released those photos Thursday.

Cops describe the suspect as white, about 5-foot-10 and between 50 and 60 with white hair. He was wearing a dark-colored baseball cap and flannel shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
