Where to buy tickets, best prices

The ultimate Greenwich Village icon is Queens-bound.

Bob Dylan recently announced he’s going to play a concert at Forest Hills Stadium — the site of his now-infamous second “electric” concert in 1965 where he was booed — on Sunday, July 19 as part of his ongoing, recently-extended ‘Rough and Rowdy Ways Tour.’

He’ll be joined by Americana icon Lucinda Williams and blues rock legend Jimmie Vaughn at the one-off gig.

If you’d like to be there, tickets are available as of today.

At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on seats at the outdoor venue was $119 including fees on StubHub.

Tickets in the 100 level start at $316 including fees.

This concert will be The Bard’s first in New York City since November 2023 when he played a pair of gigs at Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre and one at Manhattan’s Beacon Theatre.

As for Forest Hills Stadium, Dylan last visited the multipurpose event space on July 8, 2016 nearly 51 years after his history-making show that followed his legendary Newport Folk Festival set.

“This time, Forest Hills wasn’t a battleground; the old conflicts were no more than memories a few times removed from their original source,” Pitchfork reported in a thoughtful review of the evening.

“He performed 20 songs, and only two had been a part of his ’65 repertoire: ‘She Belongs With Me,”’the one with the line about the artist who don’t look back; and ‘Blowin’ in the Wind,’ which he played on piano, without comment…the crowd, schooled in part Dylan’s last 51 years of curious Americana and vexing left-turns, welcomed the new approach, and their applause was immense.”

While we don’t know what Dylan has in store this time — although Set List FM reports he regularly plays 16 songs per show these days — we do know the best way to find out is live.

Bob Dylan new music

In June 2020, Dylan released the two-disc “Rough and Rowdy Ways.”

Comprised of ten tracks, the elder statesman’s 39th album is yet another masterful entry in his storied catalog.

Ranging from romantic ballads (“I’ve Made Up My Mind To Give Myself To You”) to jaunty blues (“False Prophet”) to rollicking harmonica jams (“Goodbye Jimmy Reed”), Dylan demonstrates that even in his advanced age, he still has something to offer. This is no cash grab, the music here is clearly a labor of love.

For those wondering what the second disc is, it’s just a single song. “A Murder Most Foul” is a freewheeling, ambitious, nearly spoken-word 16-minute piece that must be heard to truly be appreciated.
