A man brandishing an ice pick threatened passersby at a busy Midtown Manhattan intersection Tuesday morning before police officers showed up and arrested him, police said.
The suspect, in his 30s, did not stab anyone but did shove an elderly man to the ground. The victim suffered minor injuries but did not need medical treatment.
The incident happened about 10:20 a.m. at W. 38th St. and Broadway, about a mile north of where accused spree killer Ramon Rivera on Monday stabbed to death the first of his three victims.
Charges against the ice pick suspect were pending Wednesday afternoon.
