Matthew McConaughey channels ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’ character with wife

Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves McConaughey’s latest campaign is gold.

For their Pantalones Organic Tequila ad released Tuesday, the couple recreated the movie poster from McConaughey’s beloved 2003 rom-com, “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.”

The shot shows Camila, 41, channeling Kate Hudson’s character, magazine writer Andie Anderson, while her husband, 55, steps back into his role as ad exec Ben Barry.

The couple stood back to back, just as Hudson, 45, and McConaughey did for the original poster 21 years ago. As for the outfits, Camila donned Andie’s iconic yellow silk gown while the “Gold” star rocked the same suit, but this time, going sans pants.

Of course, the pair continued their streak of going pantless for their joint tequila brand’s promos, which they officially launched in 2023.

Staying on theme, along with the nostalgic ad, Pantalones is debuting ten specialty cocktail recipes inspired by “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” and the film’s most iconic lines and moments.

Some recipes include “Yellow Dress” and “You’re So Vain,” a nod to Carly Simon’s hit that Andie purposefully belted out, singing, “and all the girls dreamed that they’d be Ben’s partner.”

Also on the list is a drink called “Love Fern Margarita,” inspired by the plant Andie buys for Ben to symbolize their love, and the “Benny BooBoo,” a cocktail named after the writer’s sweet nickname she gives her leading man.

The pair’s pantless poster comes on the heels of Hudson recreating another iconic moment from the movie, which infamously follows Andie writing a story about how to drive a man away in 10 days and using Ben as her unwitting subject.

In the TikTok last month, Hudson recreated the scene where Andie purposefully annoys Ben by asking him to get her a drink during an intense basketball game.

Fans flocked to the comments section to share their nostalgia, with one follower writing, “Do people understand how ICONIC THIS IS” while another said, “‘And no ice, Ben’ still my favorite movie ever.”

Last year, when the film turned 20, Hudson and McConaughey reflected on making one of the most quotable romantic comedies of all time.

“What tickles me doesn’t bruise you. What tickles you doesn’t bruise me,” McConaughey said to Variety about their acting styles. “We were never afraid to push it to what might be considered too far.”

“When you went one direction, I went with you,” Hudson added. “But then I would be like, ‘I’m gonna throw him off a little bit. Let’s see what happens if I do a sharp right.’”

The singer also answered one of her most asked questions about kissing McConaughey.

“My whole thing is we’re always in weird environments. There was only one time when we kissed that was so nice and gentle in the bathroom,” Hudson admitted.

“Everything else has not been climate controlled,” the “Interstellar” star continued. “Everything else is like swim up to the top, the sharks almost ate you, you just fell from a plane from 300 feet, tread water before you get your breath, and you’re backlit, it’s magic hour. You have 30 seconds to get the shot.”
