Man, 26, shot to death on Bronx street by crew of crooks

One man was shot to death and another pistol-whipped by a crew of crooks on a Bronx street, police said Monday.

Tyreek Moore, 26, and a 24-year-old man he was walking with were confronted on Seward Ave. near Pugsley Ave. in Castle Hill about 5:55 p.m. Sunday, cops said.

Three men dressed in black and a woman dressed in gray tried to rob the victims. At least one of the victims resisted and during the struggle Moore was shot in the back.

Medics rushed him to Jacobi Medical Center but could not be saved. Moore was about three miles from home when he was shot.

The younger victim, pistol-whipped in the head, was taken to the same hospital and is expected to recover.

The crooks got away with the younger victim’s cell phone and wallet and have not been caught, police said.
