Amtrak warned riders Monday about “significant delays” throughout the Northeast, including between Penn Station and Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and Boston.
The holdups come during one of the busiest travel times of the year, frustrating hundreds of customers trying to get home for the holidays.
Some trains have been canceled completely, including Acela 2122 between Washington and New York, and trains between New York and Boston and between New York and Philadelphia, the company posted on X Monday night.
On social media, the company cited several causes for the delays, including “crew issues,” “downed wires,” “equipment availability” and “signal issues.”
Company officials were urging travelers to check their train’s schedule before heading to the station.
