Anne Hathaway compares Jeremy Strong’s Golden Globes look to ‘Princess Diaries’

Did Jeremy Strong take a step into Genovia? Anne Hathaway certainly thinks so!

While at the 2025 Golden Globes, the “Succession” actor, 46, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actor — Motion Picture for his role in “The Apprentice,” sported a mint green velvet bucket hat and matching Loro Piana suit.

According to Hathaway, 42, he took fashion inspiration from her character in the 2001 film “The Princess Diaries,” Mia Thermopolis.

“Sweetheart, I’m not mad you borrowed it but I didn’t totally realize you were going to change the col…,” she captioned the side-by-side comparison in her Monday Instagram post, “anyway, not important, congrats on your well deserved nom for ‘The Apprentice!!!’”

Despite Strong not confirming or denying if the nod to the film was intentional, fans can look forward to seeing the next chapter in the teen-turned-princess flick play out in a third installment.

In October, Hathaway confirmed that the long-awaited threequel to “The Princess Diaries” is in the works.

The Disney star posted a video of herself on Instagram holding up one finger as the clip cut to her character saying her iconic line, “A princess? Shut Up!”

The clip then flashed to Hathaway holding up two fingers before a scene of Julie Andrews from the 2004 sequel “The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement” came on.

“Shut up!” the 89-year-old actress exclaimed.

It follows up with Hathaway holding up three fingers as she smiles at the camera and says, “Shut Up!” with the hit song “Miracles Happen (When You Believe)” from the film playing.

“The Devil Wears Prada” vet blows a kiss to the camera before a screenshot appears of an article that read, “‘Princess Diaries 3’ In the Works at Disney with Director Adele Lim.”

“Miracles happen,” Hathaway captioned the post. “Back to Genovia with @adeleblim @disney @somewherepictures. The fairy tale continues.”

Fans flocked to the comments section to share their excitement, with one user writing, “THE QUEEN OF GENOVIA HAS CONFIRMED SHE WILL RETURN,” while a second person said, “i’m seated. quite frankly i’ve never been more sat!!!”

Lim also confirmed she was set to direct the third film, gushing over the chance to create the next chapter for the princess.

We look forward to celebrating its core tenants of female power, joy and mentorship with audiences worldwide,” she said in a statement to Variety.
