Nicole Kidman chugs glass of milk as ‘Babygirl’ nod at gala

Here’s to the baby girls.

Nicole Kidman gave a shoutout to the steamy milk scene in her erotic film “Babygirl” while accepting the Best Actress Award at the National Board of Review Awards Gala in New York City on Tuesday.

At the end of her speech, Kidman, 57, told the crowd, “I’m going to raise a glass of milk to all of the baby girls in the room,” as she lifted the drink above her head and then chugged it.

The audience, which was filled with other A-listers like Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo and Elle Fanning, erupted in cheers for Kidman.

“Good girl,” Kidman said with a smile to the crowd.

During the scene in the A24 film, Kidman’s New York CEO character Romy is sent a glass of milk and forced to drink it by the young intern she’s having an affair with, played by 28-year-old Harris Dickinson.

Later, the intern, Samuel, whispers in Romy’s ear, “Good girl.”

Writer-director Halina Reijn, 49, recently revealed that the scene was inspired by a real-life moment.

Reijn told IndieWire said the situation happened after she wrapped an acting production in Belgium and went out alone because her colleagues were being “boring.”

“I went to a bar, and I ordered something boring like a Diet Coke because I didn’t drink at that time because I was a control freak. There was this young Belgian actor — I can’t say who it is — but he was famous. I knew of him. I’d never spoken to him. He was at least 15 years younger than I, and he ordered me a glass of milk,” she recalled.

“I thought it was an incredible, hot thing to do, and so courageous, and so I wanted to reward him by drinking the whole thing, and I did. It did make me a little nauseated, to be honest with you, because it was cow milk. It was back in the day.”

Reijn, who didn’t go home with the man, called the interaction “one of the most arousing moments of my life.”

In a recent interview with Variety, the Australian actress addressed whether she or Dickinson is the babygirl.

“Both, right?” she said. “As Halina says in the ‘father figure’ scene, we’re not quite sure who’s the daddy. One minute I’m the daddy, next minute he’s the daddy, which is what I love about the way in which she depicts the generations, the way in which power doesn’t matter what age you are, how it shifts.”

“I think everything’s subverted in this film,” she added.
