Chet Hanks took to Instagram to mourn his childhood home as the Palisades Wildfires continue to devastate the Los Angeles area.
“The neighborhood I grew up in is burning to the ground rn,” Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson’s 34-year-old son wrote in a message on Tuesday, as the blaze continues to bring destruction to Los Angeles County.
“Pray for the Palisades,” Chet added, alongside a praying hand emoji.
Chet grew up in Los Angeles with his famous parents and his younger brother Truman, 29. He also has two half-siblings, Colin, 47, and Elizabeth, 42, from his dad’s previous marriage to Samantha Lewes.
Chet currently lives in Nashville.
In 2010, his mom and dad purchased a $26 million, 14,513 square-foot mansion in Pacific Palisades, according to the Daily Mail.
Tom, 68, and Wilson, 68, have not publicly spoken out about the wildfire yet. They more than likely were forced to evacuate.
The Associated Press reported Wednesday that 70,000 people in Los Angeles are under evacuation orders due to the three different wildfires ravaging through Southern California.
Numerous LA-based celebrities are among the evacuated.
Ben Affleck was spotted fleeing his $20.5 million Pacific Palisades home on Tuesday. TMZ reported that the actor, 52, went to his ex-wife Jennifer Garner’s house nearby. He bought the residence following his divorce from Jennifer Lopez.
Mandy Moore confirmed that she and her three children stayed at a friend’s house after evacuating their Pasadena home.
“Praying for everyone in our beautiful city. So gutted for the destruction and loss. Don’t know if our place made it,” the “This Is Us” star wrote on Instagram.
Eugene Levy told the Los Angeles Times that he got trapped in traffic of other fleeing residents attempting to leave the Pacific Palisades neighborhood.
“The smoke looked pretty black and intense over Temescal Canyon,” the “American Pie” star, 78, said. “I couldn’t see any flames but the smoke was very dark.”
Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, meanwhile, lost their Pacific Palisades home in the massive blaze, just hours after Pratt shared a video of a plane dropping water on the nearby flames on Instagram.
Pratt, who has two young sons with his wife, later posted a clip of their home being engulfed in flames. “Nightmare came true,” he wrote.
Other celebrities who live in the area include Mark Hamill, Bradley Cooper, Reese Witherspoon, Miles Teller, Steven Spielberg, Jennifer Aniston and Michael Keaton.
At least two people have died from the fires so far, and at least 1,000 structures have burned down in the area.
