“Den of Thieves 2: Pantera” took first place in box office with sales of $6 million on Friday, its theatrical debut, according to The Numbers.
The heist flick, a sequel to the 2018 film, is expected to earn $15 million its opening weekend, Deadline reported.
“Mufasa: The Lion King” fell down a notch to second on its fourth Friday in theaters, with sales of just over $2.92 million.
The Disney film already became one of the top 15 highest-grossing musicals of all time at the domestic box office, beating 2018’s “Mary Poppins Returns,” according to Collider.
In third place was “Sonic the Hedgehog 3,” which also moved down a spot from last week, with $2.18 million in revenue.

Gothic horror “Nosferatu,” moved down a place to fourth, with a $1.95 million-dollar take.
“A Complete Unknown,” which The Post hailed as “the best musician biopic since ‘Elvis,’” took home fifth place, with earnings of $1.359 million.
The Searchlight Pictures film, which centers around the blossoming of Bob Dylan’s career, will most likely earn its star Timothée Chalamet an Oscar nod for Best Actor.
