Plaza’s husband died by suicide on Jan 3. He was 47.

Baena, who was a writer and director, was found dead by an assistant at his home in the Los Angeles area.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, with law enforcement confirming he died by suicide.

Plaza broke her silence three days after her husband’s passing in a statement from the couple’s family.

“This is an unimaginable tragedy. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has offered support. Please respect our privacy during this time,” the statement obtained by The Post read.

Two days before Baena’s death, Plaza went to the New York Knicks game at Madison Square Garden with her comedian pal Jerrod Carmichael.

The “Agatha All Along” actress was all smiles sitting front row watching the basketball game.

Baena started dating Plaza in 2011, and they got married ten years later.

Plaza casually referred to the director as “my darling husband” in a May 2021 Instagram post.

Later that year, Plaza opened up about the wedding during an appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show.”

“The marriage was just like a joke that honestly went too far,” Plaza said at the time.

“We got married on a whim,” she added. “Literally decided at around 5 p.m. and got married at 8:30.”

Plaza and Baena collaborated on several films together, including 2014’s “Life After Beth” and 2017’s “The Little Hours.”

On “The Drew Barrymore Show,” Plaza talked about balancing her personal and professional relationship with Baena.

“It’s so great, it’s so complicated,” the “Parks and Recreation” alum said about working with her husband. “It’s, like, extreme highs and extreme, you know, complications. It’s a really hard thing to navigate, but we’ve been together for 11 years. We just muscle our way through it.”

Plaza and Baena’s home is in LA, which has been devastated by multiple wildfires including the deadly Palisades Fire and the Eaton Fire. It’s unclear if their house has been impacted.

Celebrities who have lost their houses in the fires include Paris Hilton, Adam Brody and Leighton Meester, Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore, Tina Knowles, Anthony Hopkins, Bryan Greenberg and Jamie Chung, John Goodman and Billy Crystal.
