Celine Dion shares rare photos of sons on René Angélil’s death anniversary

Celine Dion is celebrating family on a difficult day.

The legendary singer, 56, shared a photo of her three rarely-seen sons on Tuesday, the ninth anniversary of her late husband René Angélil’s death.

In the photo, Dion posed on a couch outside next to her and Angélil’s sons René-Charles Angélil, 23, and twins Nelson and Eddy, 14.

The Grammy Award winner wrote a heartfelt tribute to her late spouse in her caption.

“René, we can’t believe you’ve been gone nine years already,” she said. “Not a day goes by that we don’t feel your presence, RC, Eddy, Nelson and I.”

“You were my greatest champion, my partner, and the one who always saw the best in me,” Dion continued. “I honor you and you are forever missed mon amour…. We love you.”

Dion’s fans showed her and her sons overwhelming support in the comments section.

“Can’t believe how grown the boy’s are. Rene would be proud,” one fan wrote.

“Hard to believe 9 years already, but what a legacy he has left behind and how proud he would be of you and the boys,” another fan said.

A third follower told Dion, “Your love is so beautiful and pure that it makes me believe in true love and that it transcends death.”

Angélil died of throat cancer in Jan. 2016 at age 73.

The music producer was Dion’s manager. He met her when she was 12 years old and he was 38. They started dating seven years later.

The pair got married at the Notre-Dame Basilica of Montréal in Dec. 1994. Their oldest son was born in 2001, followed by their twins in 2010.

Last month, Dion marked her and Angélil’s 30th wedding anniversary on Instagram with a black and white photo of the couple on their special day.

“You still fill our hearts, every day. You are everything for us. We miss you so much,” Dion wrote in the tribute.

“Happy 30th anniversary, mon amour!” she added, signing the message from her and her kids.

Dion rarely speaks about her sons, but she made an exception last year while discussing how they pushed her to fight Stiff-Person Syndrome, the rare neurological disorder that she was diagnosed with in 2022.

“I barely could walk at one point, and I was missing very much living. My kids started to notice,” she said in an interview with People in June 2024. “I was like, ‘OK, they already lost a parent. I don’t want them to be scared.’”

“I let them know, ‘You lost your dad, [but] mom has a condition and it’s different. I’m not going to die. It’s something that I’m going to learn to live with.’”

The “All By Myself” singer also gave her boys a shoutout at the NYC premiere of her “I Am: Celine Dion” documentary last year.

“I wouldn’t be here without the daily love and support from my wonderful children,” she said during her emotional speech on stage. “Thank you Réne-Charles. Thank you Nelson. Thank you Eddy.”
