Trump to push for ‘revolution of common sense’ in inaugural address: report

President-elect Donald Trump is expected to call for a “revolution of common sense” and a “new era of national success” when he gives his inaugural address later Monday.

“I return to the presidency confident and optimistic that we are at the start of a thrilling new era of national success. A tide of change is sweeping the country,” Trump will say, according to a copy of his prepared remarks obtained by the Wall Street Journal.

“My message to Americans today is that it is time for us to once again act with courage, vigor and the vitality of history’s greatest civilization.”

The incoming commander in chief is being sworn in as the 47th president on Monday — ushering in his second stint in the White House.

His remarks for his second inaugural address aim to be more optimistic than his darker 2017 speech when he lamented “American carnage,” people familiar with the speech told the outlet.

The speech, too, is set to describe what Trump believes are the most pressing issues facing the country and how he plans to solve them, the outlet reported.

Trump will take his oath of office, administered by Chief Justice of the United States John Roberts, at noon.

While it was originally planned to take place in front of the US Capitol, the festivities will take place inside the congressional complex because of the freezing temperatures in Washington, DC.

He then plans to issue a wave of executive orders after immediately being sworn to put his stamp on his new administration on matters ranging from energy to immigration.
