Kristin Davis forgives, but she doesn’t forget.
The “Sex and the City” actress, 59, revealed on Sunday’s episode of her “Are You a Charlotte?” podcast to guest Sarah Wynter that she was once ghosted by an actor after lending him $5,000.
“I did one time date this out-of-work actor. I think this was before ‘Sex and the City,’ maybe between ‘Melrose [Place’] and ‘Sex and City,’ or maybe when I was on ‘Melrose.’ I don’t know,’” Davis recalled, noting that the unnamed actor is “now very successful.”
“He was very talented,” she continued, “but, at the time, I had money because I’d been working, and I was at his house and he had all of these, ‘your electricity’s gonna be turned off,’ like all those notices that you get when you can’t pay your bills. They were all just all over his house, right?”
“And I was like, ‘What’s happening?’ And then I think he wrecked his motorcycle, which is like how he got around town to his auditions. And I was like, ‘Can I lend you some money?’”
Davis said that her offer was “a horrible mistake.”
“Anyone listening, do not lend anyone money that you are dating,” Davis warned, which Wynter — who appeared in the first episode of “SATC” — agreed with.
“Do not do it,” Davis added. “It doesn’t end well. It really irked me.”
The “And Just Like That” star explained that her good deed “changed the dynamic” of her relationship with the mystery man “in a really horrible way.”
“It was kind of a casual thing. I probably should’ve known better,” said Davis. “But I just felt like, ‘I can help. I should help this guy. He’s so talented,’— which he is. I lend him money. I think it was all of $5,000. So I lent him this money and then he stops calling. I’m like, ‘What the heck?’”
Davis recalled showing up to the man’s apartment and “banging on the door.” She heard his dog inside and wondered to herself, “‘Is he in there and pretending that he is not in there?’”
“And then later on, he called me and was like, ‘Did you come to my house and bang on my door?’ And I was like, ‘Well, yes.’ I felt so embarrassed, like I was being messy.’”
Wynter, 51, told Davis she “had every right” to be upset with the actor, and joked she should get the money back “with interest.”
“I just would love some acknowledgment or whatever, which is kind of a fantasy,” Davis explained, as Wynter encouraged her to go knock on his door again.
“He lives out in the country with some children, so I don’t think I want to show up there,” David said with a laugh.
“You live and you learn,” Wynter noted about the situation, as Davis admitted, “I can’t say that was the last time I did it. I think the next time was the last time.”
Davis has never been married. She dated Aaron Sorkin in 2012 and was was romantically linked to Alec Baldwin and Rick Fox.
In 2011, she adopted a daughter, Gemma Rose.
