Justin Baldoni voicemail to Blake Lively leaks; trial date is set

A 2 a.m. voicemail in which Justin Baldoni apologizes to Blake Lively has been leaked to the press as the stars’ never-ending “It Ends With Us” feud gets a trial date.

Lively, 37, and 41-year-old Baldoni — who starred opposite each other in the domestic violence drama, directed by Baldoni — will head to court March 9, 2026 over her sexual harassment suit and his responding defamation suit.

“I for sure fell short and you worked really hard on [rewriting the rooftop scene]. And the way you framed it and how that made you feel. I just want to say, thank you for sharing that with me. That takes a lot of trust and vulnerability. I just, I feel really grateful that you feel safe enough to share that with me and tell me how you feel,” Baldoni said in an excerpt of a more than six-minute voicemail, published exclusively by Daily Mail.

It’s unclear when the voicemail was recorded, per People.

The rooftop scene shows how their characters meet and, according to Baldoni’s defamation suit against Lively, proved a major sticking point in their rapport. He claims she wanted to overtake the film, starting with that scene, and leveraged the celebrity of her “dragons,” husband Ryan Reynolds and best pal Taylor Swift, to do so.

“I f–ked up. That is a fail on my part. One thing you should know about me is I will admit and apologize when I fail. I am far from perfect. I’m a very flawed man, as my wife will attest,” Baldoni continued with a chuckle. “I will for sure do better. That was not my best weekend and I should’ve given it more time. And damn right, you got great friends if that’s how you felt and they knew that. … We should all have friends like that. Aside from the fact that they’re two of the most creative people on the planet.”

As for Lively, Reynolds and Swift, he dubbed the “unbelievable” trio a show of “force, all three of you.

“But I just want you to know that I didn’t need that. … It’s gonna make the movie sing, like you said. I’m excited to go through the whole movie with you. I’m just excited to spend time with you,” continued Baldoni.

Just before Christmas, Lively filed a complaint accusing Baldoni of on-set sexual harassment and a retaliatory smear campaign. She sued him on Dec. 31, at which point he sued The New York Times for $250 million over its allegedly libelous deep-dive into the claims.

Baldoni sued Lively, Reynolds and Lively’s publicist, Leslie Sloane, for $400 million earlier this month, accusing them of defamation and extortion, among other alleged offenses.

New York federal judge Lewis J. Liman announced the date Monday and moved a conference from next week to mid-February as Lively’s lawyers call for a gag order against Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, after he leaked footage from the “It Ends With Us” set.
