A brazen thief stole an elderly woman’s shopping cart that contained $40,000 in cashier’s checks on Wednesday in the Bronx, police said.
The 85-year-old woman was approached by an unidentified man around noon on Marion Ave. and E. 195th St. in Fordham, where the thief snatched her shopping cart, which contained an Apple iPhone and multiple debit and credit cards, in addition to the cashier’s checks, cops said.
The robber took off on foot soon afterward heading east on E. 195th St. Cops released photos of the suspect, showing the man wearing a hat, black jacket, black jeans and white shoes.
The woman was not injured in the incident.
