Kensington Palace will reportedly no longer be sharing details of Kate Middleton’s outfits.
The Princess of Wales, 43, has put her foot down and asked the palace to no longer disclose details of what she’s wearing to royal engagements, The Sunday Times reports.
Instead, the mom of three wants the focus to be on “really important issues” such as her charity work and philanthropic efforts, the outlet adds.
“There is an absolute feeling that it [the public work] is not about what the princess is wearing,” a source told the outlet.
“She wants the focus to be on the really important issues, the people and the causes she is spotlighting.”
The insider went on, “There will always be an appreciation of what the princess is wearing from some of the public and she gets that. But do we need to be officially always saying what she is wearing? No. The style is there but it’s about the substance.”
While the palace may still reveal details about the royal’s outfits during significant events, it will no longer be doing the same for regular engagements, the outlet adds.
The Post has reached out to Kensington Palace for comment.
The shift in protocol comes just weeks after it was reported that Princess Catherine is making a gradual return to public-facing duties after a year of cancer treatment behind closed doors.
Last month, the princess revealed that her cancer is officially in remission.
Middleton revealed her cancer diagnosis to the world in March 2024, two months after undergoing “major abdominal surgery” at the London Clinic.
“It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focused on recovery,” Middleton wrote on Instagram last month alongside a picture of her sitting with a cancer patient at the hospital.
“As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal,” she continued. “I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support.”
Middleton also thanked the Royal Marsden Hospital — which she visited last month — “for looking after me so well during the past year” in her statement.
