Mark Hamill accidentally dropped trou at the 2025 BAFTAs on Sunday night.
The “Stars Wars” icon, 73, was on stage at London’s Royal Festival Hall presenting the final award of the night, Best Film, when he appeared to suffer the unfortunate wardrobe malfunction.
“If you’re in the room like me, you must love film — so what makes us love cinema so much that we’re all gathered here to celebrate tonight. For me, it’s that films create worlds so vivid and stories so powerful that we lose ourselves completely,” Hamill said to the crowd from a podium.
Then, Hamill suddenly grabbed his pants that appeared to fall from around his waist.
The actor quickly pulled his pants back up from behind the podium, without messing up the next part of his speech at all.
“They create immersive cinematic landscapes that feel live whether they’re set here in London or anywhere you imagine they can take you,” he said as he fixed his pants behind the podium.
At the end of the clip, the camera zoomed out to show Hamill finishing adjusting his pants to fit around his waist as he continued talking.
Hamill went on to name the nominees for Best Film before announcing “Conclave” as the winner.
A insider who allegedly was sitting in the front row at the BAFTAs told The Sun about the crowd’s reaction to the incident.
“Mark started speaking then his suit trousers just dropped to his knees. It was like they were too big for him,” said the source.
“All the big stars such as Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande, Adrien Brody would have seen it from their angle. Most guests looked horrified but said nothing,” the insider claimed. “It was a moment that you wouldn’t have believed unless you saw it.”
“They were turning to each other wide-eyed as if to say, ‘Did that just happen?’” the source added.
The insider also claimed that Hamill’s wardrobe malfunction was “the talk of the awards dinner later on,” but that the actor handled the situation “like a pro.”
The clip of Hamill went viral on social media and sparked many “Star Wars” puns from fans.
“May the Gravity be with You,” one person joked on X.
“Haha the force has weakened in this one,” someone else wrote.
“Dudes pants really just fall down on stage??” a third person asked.
A different user wrote, “Imagine being Luke Skywalker and your pants falling down on stage. The force was not with him.”

The 2025 BAFTAs guest list included Chalamet and his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, Grande, Brody, Selena Gomez, Demi Moore, Pamela Anderson, Ralph Fiennes, Cynthia Erivo, Zoe Saldana, Sebastian Stan and more.
The other top prizes of the night went to Brady Corbet for Best Director, Brody for Best Actor, Mikey Madison for Best Actress, Kieran Culkin for Best Supporting Actor and Saldana for Best Supporting Actress.
