An ABC7 Eyewitness News helicopter made an emergency landing in a football field of a Queens high school Thursday morning, according to New York City Emergency Management.
The chopper was forced to land suddenly on the field at Archbishop Molloy High School in Briarwood at 6:30 a.m. after the indicator light went on, said police.
The Catholic school, located at Manton St. near Main St., was not in session at the time and the field was empty, cops said.
According to a post on X by NYC Emergency Management, who responded to the scene, they were joined by NYPD, FDNY and the Federal Aviation Administration. A helicopter mechanic was also present, although the reporter had left, said police.
No injuries were reported.
