David Beckham is irresistible — even to his mother-in-law.
The soccer star, 49, spoke to Netflix chief content officer Bela Bajaria at MIP London on Tuesday and revealed an “embarrassing” moment involving wife Victoria Beckham’s mom, Jackie Adams, and his Hugo Boss underwear campaign.
David said Adams, 73, admitted that she and her friends were “zooming in” on the viral photos and told him “you can see everything.”
“I was like, ‘Well don’t zoom in then,’” David joked, per Deadline.
David posed in nothing but his underwear to announce the launch of the Hugo Boss’ Boss One Bodywear collection last month.
The pro athlete put his toned body and tattoos on full display in the steamy pictures.
“I hung my pants up when I did my last commercial 10 years ago and never thought I’d do it again,” David, who signed a multi-year global partnership and design deal with Hugo Boss last May, said at MIP London.
“I told my team I’m not going back in my underwear,” he explained. “But then we signed the Boss deal and they said they had an underwear campaign and I was under quite a bit of pressure at that point so I agreed and trained for it.”
The father of four said he spent 14 weeks training for the campaign.
“Someone that loves food and wine, I cut that out for 14 weeks and just went for it,” he shared.
Victoria, 50, thirsted over David’s underwear photoshoot when it came out, calling him her “boss” in a flirty Instagram comment.
At MIP London, David also spoke about how he had to convince his wife to participate in her upcoming Netflix docuseries — even after the pair had success with their “Beckham” doc.
“It took a minute to try and get her to agree with it,” said David. “It wasn’t something that was easy. I think I’m the only one who could convince her and I did, eventually.”
David shared that viewers will see the former Spice Girl “in a different light” in her doc, which began production last summer.
“My wife is one of the hardest working women that I know, and she’s been building her business for the last 20 years,” David explained. “There’s so many different elements of this documentary that people are going to be surprised with. I suppose some people probably think she started this brand and it came very easy, but she’s been working for a long time.”
Looking back on his 2023 “Beckham” doc that was nominated for five Emmy Awards, David said that “the impact” of the series “was incredible.”
“The amount of people that have watched it, that loved it and got so much from it,” he said. “That was the most rewarding part for me, to have people come up and say either, ‘Thank you for reminding us of the story,’ or ‘I didn’t know you went through those things,’ or ‘Thank you for telling the stories about your family.’”
