Dems are self-fulfilling a prophecy with embarrassing TikToks

Someone needs to take away the Dems’ TikTok passwords, pronto.

This week, progressive lawmakers heaped embarrassment upon embarrassment onto themselves with a string of cringeworthy videos — lip-syncing and taking part in infantile TikTok trends. (And lest we forget those cheesy paddles they held up in protest of Trump’s joint address to Congress on Tuesday night.)

These people are lost in the woods without a compass or a will to find their way out.

Very rarely does the public get to the witness such anatomy of political disorientiation in real time. But the Dems seem laser focused on making all the wrong steps all at once and for all to see.

This week, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and other Democratic congresswomen put out a video of themselves re-creating a Mortal Kombat-style “choose your fighter” montage.

It made me want to choose a life off the grid, never to see the internet again.

Just the sight of Texas’ Jasmine Crockett, Nevada’s Susie Lee and California’s Julie Chu bobbing, weaving and punching the air was enough to cause a tsunami of secondhand embarrassment that swept our entire nation.

Influencer Sulhee Jessica Woo first shared it to her 5.6 million followers in honor of Women’s History Month, but I can think of no better way to set females back 100 years.

And predictably, they’ll still complain that no one takes women seriously.

I guess calling Trump “literally Hitler” for years didn’t work, so they’ve moved on the bold strategy of messaging that replicates the social media algorithm of a 14-year-old.

And 82-year-old Connecticut Rep Rose DeLauro has fully embraced it, too.

With a set-up of “Letting my Gen Z staff write the script,” DeLauro is seen holding one of those tiny microphones used by only the most annoying influencers. She addresses her “besties” and introduces herself by saying “Yo this is the ranking rizzler on appropriations.” The lawmaker continued dropping inanities like “It’s giving skibidi” and “Republican’s Project 2025 is mad sus.”

If ever there was proof that her Gen Z staffers despise her: They let her film this and hit Send once it was complete. This video was the equivalent of a scathing Glassdoor review that says, “Don’t work for this lady.”

Yeah, yeah, I get it. A senior citizen embracing (now dated) kids’ trends is supposed to be “funny.” Except it’s not.

DeLauro, whose purple hair streak has the unfortunate effect of making her look like a villainous Disney witch, comes off like she’s trying to lure children to her cottage and bake them for dinner — not a friendly octogenarian trying to relate to a younger generation.

But she has many partners in shame.

Crockett has crowned herself head Dem, appearing all over television and calling Trump “Putin’s ho.” She’s shown the party is ready. Not for a comeback, but to make Marjorie Taylor Greene look dignified by comparison.

Just before Trump’s Tuesday address, Crockett posted a video of herself dancing and mouthing the words to the Kendrick Lamar diss track “Not Like Us.

The display made me fully confident that she would run away with a win on “Lip Sync Battle” if they decided to resurrect it. But Congress?

Crockett still needs more rehearsals until she can play a serious lawmaker.

We need adults in the room, not pandering morons who are directing their message to kids not even old enough to vote. Also: Find me a young person with whom this actually resonates. If anything, this shows contempt for Americans of all ages.

They think we’re barking seals who want song and dances, not solutions for quality of life issues.

The Dems are the personification of the Steve Buscemi “How do you do, fellow kids?” meme — so overused, one would think they’d know better. But they’re that out of touch.

That’s not to say pols can’t color outside of the lines. Look at Trump, who is a disruptor of norms. But that’s because he speaks like a blue-collar guy on a construction site — his observation this week of stranded astronaut Suni Williams’ “wild hair … no games with her hair” was inspired — not an adolescent exploring TikTok for the first time.

He’s blunt, he’s tough. And the Dems do have a counterpart, in hoodie-wearing John Fetterman.

Unfortunately, Fetterman’s side is too narcissistic to take the temperature of the country. Instead, they’re trying to knock Republicans off the top of the mountain with a childish meme battle — not a swift gust of wind powered by substantive policy discussions.

But, as the old Napoleon quote goes, “Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.”

I look forward to their next performance.
