Man, 23, shot in head, gunned down in Brooklyn building


A 23-year-old man was shot to death in Brooklyn on Friday afternoon, police said.

Police responding to a 911 call around 4:15 p.m. found the young victim unconscious on the first floor of an apartment building on Herkimer St. near Nostrand Ave. in Bedford-Stuyvesant, with a gunshot wound to his head and multiple gunshot wounds throughout his body, cops said.

EMS transported the victim to Kings County Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead, cops said.

“We just talked to his mother. We wish we had more answers,” a detective at the crime scene said on Friday night.

“He was shot in the hallway. When they brought him out he wasn’t moving,” a neighbor who declined to give his name said. “The cops were going through the garbage. They were looking for a gun,” the neighbor said.

Police could not immediately say if they recovered a weapon.

There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
