Sharon Stone says she was ‘cast and removed unexpectedly’ from ‘A Simple Favor’ sequel

Sharon Stone says she was simply “cast and removed unexpectedly” from “Another Simple Favor,” Blake Lively’s first film amid her heated legal battle with Justin Baldoni.

The Oscar-nominated “Casino” star, 67, didn’t realize taking on a part in the sequel to Paul Feig’s 2018 hit “A Simple Favor” — starring Lively, 37, and Anna Kendrick — would be such a gamble.

“I LOVED being cast and removed from my role unexpectedly for no reason at all LOVED it,” Stone commented on E! News’ Instagram Reel speculating on the reported bad blood between Lively and Kendrick, 39.

At the time of publication, the “Basic Instinct” star’s comment had over 700 likes and dozens of responses, including E! probing her to spill some tea, posting the side-eye emoji and, “DO TELL, @sharonstone.”

Kendrick made headlines last weekend following the film’s world premiere at SXSW, when Entertainment Tonight asked how it was to reunite with the “Gossip Girl” alum and she simply said, “Oh, you know …”

When the outlet asked Lively how it was to once again team up with the “Woman of the Hour” star and director, she said, “Oh, it’s the best. I’m so happy to be here.”

Lively filed a complaint in late December, accusing 41-year-old “It Ends With Us” director Baldoni of sexual harassment on the set of the film in which they both starred. Lively alleged the “Jane the Virgin” alum subsequently waged a smear campaign against her. The allegations went viral in a New York Times article, “We Can Bury Anyone.”

On Dec. 31, Lively formally sued Baldoni just as he filed a $250 million libel lawsuit against the paper.

Weeks later, he filed a $400 million lawsuit against Lively, as well as her husband Ryan Reynolds and publicist Leslie Sloane, accusing them all of defamation and civil extortion. The case is currently slated to head to trial in New York next March.
