John Leguizamo blames erectile dysfunction on hair loss medication

Erectile dysfunction may or may not be such a laughing matter for John Leguizamo, who says he suffers from the common condition due to a popular hair loss medication.

The Emmy Award-winning actor and comedian opened up on the side effects of Propecia during a lively chat on Friday’s episode of “The View.”

A steamy “Hot Topics” discussion from an earlier segment of the show, which touched on topics ranging from pornography to having sex over 40, prompted Leguizamo to share his perplexing penis problem.

“I’m on Propecia, so it’s a different thing,” the 64-year-old confessed. “Propecia for your hair makes your thing not work as much, so then you have to take Viagra to undo the Propecia.”

“But I want to have good hair, so it’s an up and down thing,” he quipped, prompting laughter at his use of the pun and eyebrow-raising honesty.

“I’m sorry I started so rudely,” he chuckled.

Before he came out to join the panel, co-hosts Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin waxed poetic about Kate Hudson’s recent comments regarding sex over a certain age.

“The best part about sex in your 40s, honestly, is the freedom,” she told Bustle in an interview published last month. “Sex isn’t supposed to be pretty, and I think that when you get older you kind of have more fun with that.”
