A missing New Jersey woman was found by the wife of a retired police officer on Tuesday morning, roughly 48 hours after she disappeared.
Danyila Nykytyn, 66, was last seen on Sunday near a wooded area in Mount Laurel, a town in Burlington County about 12 miles east of Philadelphia.
Police said she walked away from her home around 7:30 a.m. without her wallet or cellphone. She was described as a shy homebody and speaking only Ukrainian.
Her family reported her missing Sunday afternoon, a few hours after a local resident said they spotted Nykytyn heading into the woods near her home, reported NBC Philadelphia.
On Tuesday, at around 6:40 a.m., the wife of a retired Mount Laurel police officer spotted Nykytyn walking along a road only about 1.5 miles from her home. She was reunited with her family and taken to a hospital as a precaution, but did not appear to be injured.
No other information about her disappearance and subsequent whereabouts was released.
