Six men were arrested on child exploitation charges following a massive sting operation led by the New York State Police, authorities announced Wednesday.
The undercover investigation was conducted by state troopers in partnership with the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office and the Town of Ramapo Police Department, Trooper Jennifer Alvarez, a NYSP spokesperson, said in a news release.
According to Alvarez, “highly trained investigators” infiltrated online platforms known for child exploitation and used “advanced cyber tactics” to identify individuals attempting to exploit vulnerable children and arrange in-person meetings.
At the end of the multi-day operation, authorities identified six individuals — five from New York and one from New Jersey — who were then arrested and charged with multiple offenses.
All six men were charged with endangering the welfare of a child, officials said.
Jose B. Tombriz-Ixquiactap, 28, of Monticello, N.Y.; Yessachar D. Klahr, 51, of Monsey, N.Y.; Adrian Rosas, 33, of Stony Point, N.Y.; Diego Patricio D. Pachar Corte, 38, of Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.; and Carl W. Ellis, 55, of Maplewood, N.J., were also charged with attempted rape.
Additionally, Corte, Valdivia, and Ellis were charged with attempting to disseminate indecent material to minors, while Klahr was charged with attempted patronizing of a person for prostitution.
All men are being held at the Rockland County Jail, officials said. They are scheduled to appear in Montebello Village Court on Friday.
