A man was arrested over the weekend after threatening to bomb the Coachella music festival in California.
Davis Darvish, from Santa Monica, allegedly approached security at Agua Caliente Casino in Rancho Mirage on Saturday and told guards he would be responsible for a bombing at the nearby Coachella Music & Arts Festival, according to the Cathedral City Police Department. The festival grounds are about 16 miles from the casino in Indio.
He was detained by police about an hour after making the threat in Palm Springs, but no weapons or explosives material was found on him or in his car.
Darvish, 40, is currently being held on $1 million bail at the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio. Police are investigating his activities prior to making the threat.
Week one of the festival ran from April 11-13 and featured performances by Lady Gaga, Green Day and more as well as a surprise appearance by Bernie Sanders. Week two is scheduled to begin Friday.
