Lil Nas X hospitalized after he ‘lost control’ of the right side of his face

Lil Nas X said he was hospitalized after losing control of the right side of his face.

The Grammy Award-winning “Old Town Road” star revealed he was experiencing partial paralysis in his face in a series of videos posted to social media from his hospital bed on Monday night.

In one of the clips, he tried to crack a smile but only one half of his face moved, while the other side was still. The 26-year-old, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, wrote that he’d “lost control of the right side of my face” in the caption.

“This is me doing a full smile right now by the way,” he joked in the video. “It’s like, what the f–k? I can’t even laugh right, bro.”

In another clip posted to Instagram Stories, Lil Nas X zoomed in on one side of his face and said, “we normal over here” before switching to the other side and saying, “we get crazy over here.”

The hip hop provocateur assured worried fans that everything was OK. “Stop being sad for me! Shake ur ass for me instead!” he wrote.

“Imma look funny for a lil bit but that’s it,” he added with crying emojis.

Lil Nas X did not reveal what caused the condition.

However, a somewhat common condition known as Bell’s palsy — when the facial nerve becomes inflamed — can be the root of temporary facial paralysis.

CBS Evening News” anchor Maurice DuBois was diagnosed with Bell’s palsy in 2016. According to the National Institutes of Health, roughly 40,000 Americans are affected from the condition each year.  Prednisone and antiviral medication can treat it.

Side effects of certain medications, Lyme disease, shingles or stroke can also cause partial face paralysis.
