Knicks’ Jalen Brunson alarms fans with exit in Game 2 loss to Pistons

Jalen Brunson endured physical play in Monday’s Game 2 against the Detroit Pistons at Madison Square Garden, alarming fans with a late-game exit.

With 4:43 remaining in the fourth quarter, during a spirited Knicks comeback, the star point guard committed a foul on Jalen Duren, exited the game, and headed to the locker room, accompanied by his father, Rick Brunson.

The reason for Brunson’s exit from the court wasn’t disclosed, leaving Knicks fans anxiously awaiting updates. However, the two-time All-Star emerged from the locker room and checked back in 16 seconds of game time later, just in time for another dramatic finish.

Brunson’s 13-foot jumper narrowed the Knicks’ deficit to two with 2:23 remaining. He then converted 2-of-3 free throws after being fouled on a three-point attempt by Tobias Harris.

However, Brunson missed a potential game-tying 3-pointer with 46.5 seconds left, finishing with a game-high 37 points and adding three rebounds, seven assists and two steals in 44 minutes. He shot 12-for-27 from the field in the Knicks’ 100-94 Game 2 defeat.

This is a developing story. Check back for details.
