Man fatally shot in brazen attack on Queens street


A young man was gunned down Tuesday in a brazen attack on a Queens street, police said.

Cops responded to a shooting around 5:44 p.m. near George St. and Seneca Ave. in Ridgewood, where a man believed to be in his 20s was fatally shot in the torso, officials said.

One resident in the neighborhood, Cecilia Tavarez, 53, told the Daily News she heard a couple of shots and saw the victim sprawled on the ground. Tavarez said she tried to help the man, but couldn’t find a pulse.

“I heard two shots — pop, pop,” Tavarez recounted. “I saw the boy on the floor on his back next to the pump, he was face up and his body was white, all white.”

EMS transported the man to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he died.

The shooting was believed to be targeted, sources told The News, adding that police are looking for three individuals who bolted from the scene, heading north toward Myrtle Ave.
