Man, woman wounded in separate nearby Bronx shootings: NYPD


A man and woman were wounded in separate nearby shootings in the Bronx less than fifteen minutes apart on Friday night, police said Saturday.

The bloodshed began around 9:08 p.m. when gunfire erupted on E. 146 St. near Brook Ave. in Mott Haven, striking a 32-year-old man in the torso.

Two suspects fled on one Citi Bike and remain at large, cops said.

Medics rushed the wounded man to Lincoln Hospital, where he was expected to survive.

Twelve minutes later, roughly a mile away, a 35-year-old woman was shot once in the right leg inside the St. Mary’s Houses NYCHA Complex on Westchester Ave. near Cauldwell Ave. in Melrose.

Two suspects wearing all black fled on separate Citi Bikes and have not been caught, cops said.

Medics brought the woman to Lincoln Hospital, where she was in stable condition.

On Saturday morning, a trail of blood remained on the 19th floor of the apartment building where the woman was shot.

Cops said it was not immediately clear if the two shootings were connected, or if the two victims were the suspects’ intended targets.
