Illinois Gov. Pritzker hammered over resurfaced tweet urging public to use ‘other gender’s bathroom today’ in protest of Trump order

They dove into potty politics.

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker was hammered Tuesday over a resurfaced tweet in which the Democrat urged the public to “use the other gender’s bathroom” in protest of President Trump ending an Obama-era policy that allowed transgender students to utilize the facilities that align with their gender identity.

Rep. Brandon Gill (R-Texas) had dredged up the eight-year-old tweet from Pritzker during a heated House Oversight Committee hearing with sanctuary state governors.

“As a protest against Trump’s rescinding protections for trans kids, everyone should use the other gender’s bathroom today! #protecttranskids,” Pritzker tweeted in February 2017.

Pritzker’s post came after Trump nixed the policy put in place by former President Barack Obama.

“Do you think that biological men should be able to use women’s restrooms?” Gill began during his fiery confrontation with Pritzker.

The Illinois governor chided that he wasn’t sure what that question had to do with immigration, prompting Gill to showcase a screenshot of his 2017 tweet.

“Have you ever used the women’s restroom?” the Texas rep pressed.

“Not that I can recall,” Pritzker couched in response.

“So you wanted everybody else to do it, but you didn’t,” Gill shot back.

The Illinois Democrat argued that “I do not advocate” for men to use women’s bathrooms and ducked questions about whether he regretted the old tweet.

“Did you ever consider that women don’t want you in their bathrooms?” Gill swiped.

“So you’re admitting that this is just a political circus?” Pritzker replied. “This has nothing to do with immigration and [is really] about you grandstanding.”

Gill then further zinged Pritzker, accusing him of “encouraging men to use women’s restrooms where there could be underage girls.”

Later, the freshman Texas rep asked Pritzker, “Do you support Hamas’ agenda?” The governor denied doing so and touted his efforts to fight antisemitism.
