Man, 22, beaten in head in anti-gay attack on NYC Midtown street


A 22-year-old man was beaten during an anti-gay attack in Midtown Manhattan, police said Thursday.

Cops have released surveillance video of the hate-filled assailant in the hope that someone recognizes him.

The victim was walking past a parking garage on W. 34th St. near Eighth Ave. around 3 a.m. on Sunday when the suspect, sporting a beard and dreadlocks, approached him from behind.

“I ain’t into that gay s—,” the man said before hurling a haymaker at the victim, striking him in the side of the head, cops said.

The attacker continued to punch the victim before he ran off down the street.

The victim was left bruised, but did not go to the hospital.

He reported the incident to police a short time later.

Members of the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force are investigating.
