‘American Idol’ music supervisor, husband shot to death in home

Award-winning “American Idol” music supervisor Robin Kaye and her husband Thomas Deluca appear to have been victims of a “gruesome double murder” in their Los Angeles home.

Their bodies were discovered by police officers conducting a Monday welfare check, according to TMZ.

Police in the Encino neighborhood smashed a window to enter the home after seeing blood at the front entrance. The pair is believed to have been shot.

Cops had paid a visit to the home Thursday after an unidentified person reportedly jumped a fence and tried to enter the house with what appeared to be a firearm. A neighbor said four day had passed between the last time they saw Kaye and Deluca and the discovery of the victims’ bodies.

The home was previously owned by rapper Juice WRLD according to TMZ. He died from a drug overdose in 2019 at 21 years old.

Kaye worked on nearly 300 “American Idol” episodes before stepping away in 2023, according to IMDb. She’s also credited with serving as a music supervisor on numerous Miss Universe and NCAA Image Award presentations.

Deluca was a musician who released one record in the 1980s on Epic Records and penned songs recorded by artists including Kid Rock, the band Molly Hatchet and Meredith Brooks according to his professional website.

Authorities haven’t named a suspect or suggest a motive. The Los Angeles Police Department didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
