Two teenagers were stabbed, with one sustaining serious injuries — after a fight broke out at a fair held at a Long Island middle school Tuesday night, authorities said.
The violent incident took place at the annual Huntington Manor Fireman’s Fair just before 9 p.m., a spokesperson for the Suffolk County Police Department confirmed to the Daily News.
“A group of teenagers and young men became involved in an altercation … at approximately 8:50 p.m.,” the spokesperson said.
Two male victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment. A 14-year-old was “stabbed and seriously injured,” while a 17-year-old boy “sustained non-life-threatening stab wounds,” according to the police.
Authorities did not clarify the teens’ relationship.
The Fireman’s Fair, a week-long event held on the grounds of Stimson Middle School, features nearly two dozen rides, games, food trucks, gambling, fireworks and other attractions.
The festivities got underway Tuesday and are scheduled to run through Saturday. On Wednesday, a parade celebrating the hose company’s 100th anniversary will travel from Breezy Park down Oakwood Road to Stimson, according to Huntington Now.
