A 50-year-old man was gunned down during a bloody clash on a dead-end Queens street — and NYPD detectives were investigating whether the fatal shooting was motivated by a love triangle, a police source with knowledge of the case told the Daily News.
The victim was shot repeatedly on 119th St. near 28th Ave. — just a few steps from Flushing Bay — in College Point at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday, cops said.
Detectives believe the gunman was the estranged husband of the victim’s girlfriend, who was outraged that the two were dating, the source said. The couple was separated, but not divorced.
It wasn’t immediately clear if the woman was present when the victim was shot to death.
The quiet, narrow block ends at the bay and has small single-family homes on one side. Factories take up the other side of the street.
When police arrived at the scene, the victim had been shot multiple times in his chest and stomach, officials said.
EMS rushed him to New York-Presbyterian Queens, where he succumbed to his injuries.
